a passion for unforgettable food, meaningful connections, and seamless event experiences.
Chef Ben Voisin
Born in Le Mans, France and raised in Bordeaux, Chef Ben Voisin’s passion for food began at home, inspired by the heartfelt cooking of his mother and grandmother. Their dedication to quality ingredients and the joy of sharing meals lit the spark that would become his lifelong calling.
He honed his culinary skills at Lycée Hôtelier de Talence, one of France’s most respected hospitality schools, and completed his formal training with a prestigious master internship in Spain. Captivated by the country’s vibrant culture and cuisine, Chef Ben remained in Spain for seven years, gaining invaluable experience and deepening his culinary perspective.
It was during this chapter of his life that he met Valeria, now his wife and partner in life and business. Together, they have two beautiful children and a shared passion for hospitality and innovation.
Chef Ben’s culinary journey has taken him across the globe, from Switzerland to the Caribbean, and ultimately to the United States. In 2014, he settled in Cape Coral, Florida, where his vision and leadership have flourished. Today, he proudly manages five businesses, including the beloved Black Salt Culinary, bringing international flair, precision, and heart to every plate.
Driven by creativity and a deep respect for every client’s vision, Chef Ben continues to elevate events big and small—leaving a lasting impression with every dish he serves.


Valeria Zanella Voisin
Co-Owner, Black Salt Catering
It was at La Manga where Valeria met Chef Ben, her now husband and business partner. Together, they continued their hospitality adventure in the Caribbean, spending three enriching years in St. Kitts and Nevis. Their shared love for food, travel, and service eventually brought them to Florida, where they’ve established a thriving life and business.
Today, Valeria manages marketing and reservations for Black Salt Catering, as well as other family-run hospitality ventures. With a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of guest experience, and an international perspective, Valeria brings passion and professionalism to every aspect of the business.
Kathy Stephan
Co-Owner, Black Salt Catering
At Black Salt, Kathy plays a key role in helping clients plan and execute seamless, memorable occasions. From event setup to bar service, she ensures that every detail is thoughtfully coordinated and tailored to each client’s vision. Kathy also holds a Level 2 Certification in Wine from the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust), making her the go-to expert for wine selections and beverage pairings.
Her warmth, professionalism, and dedication make Kathy an invaluable part of the Black Salt team—and the perfect partner in planning your next celebration.


Meredith Hoffman
Co-Owner & CFO, Black Salt Catering
After completing their studies, Meredith and Tim moved to the Bahamas and eventually became proud owners of a boutique hotel in Nevis. Their 12 years in the Caribbean shaped their love for hospitality and laid the foundation for their future ventures. Eventually, they relocated to Florida, where they opened a successful restaurant and coffee shop—bringing together what would become the Black Salt team.
Born in Virginia, Meredith Hoffman’s journey has taken her across borders and into the heart of the hospitality industry. She moved to Miami to pursue a degree in Psychology, and it was there that she met her husband, Timothy—her partner in life and business for the past 25 years. Together, they have raised three wonderful children and built a life full of adventure and purpose.
After completing their studies, Meredith and Tim moved to the Bahamas and eventually became proud owners of a boutique hotel in Nevis. Their 12 years in the Caribbean shaped their love for hospitality and laid the foundation for their future ventures. Eventually, they relocated to Florida, where they opened a successful restaurant and coffee shop—bringing together what would become the Black Salt team.
Today, Meredith is the Chief Financial Officer of Black Salt Catering, making sure every penny is in its proper place and every spreadsheet is balanced—because someone has to keep all the creative chefs in line! Her dedication, organization, and warm leadership style are the backbone of the business’s success.
Timothy Hoffman
Co-Owner, Black Salt Catering
Together with his life partner, Meredith, Tim eventually settled in Florida, though their adventurous spirit means they’re often on the move—vacationing, visiting their kids, and continuing to soak in the world around them.
At Black Salt Catering, Tim is truly the “chameleon” of the team—able to jump into any role at a moment’s notice, whether it’s logistics, operations, or hands-on event execution. His versatility, experience, and calm presence make him an invaluable piece of the Black Salt puzzle.

This team’s journey began in 2014, when they came together under Hoffman Group Holdings to revitalize two beloved local spots:
The Joint and Runaground, now known as Fathoms Restaurant and The French Press at Cape Harbour Marina in Cape Coral.
Their natural synergy and shared love for hospitality soon led them to explore a new venture: catering. After a handful of successful
events and countless inspired conversations, Black Salt Culinary was officially born in 2015—a company built on personalization, excellence, and genuine care.
Now celebrating a decade of bringing visions to life, the Black Salt team is honored by the countless clients we’ve served and the beautiful memories we’ve helped create.
